- Cora (not her real name) gave birth to her son Connor in January 2013 at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary. Four days later a social worker from Alberta's Ministry of Children's Services served her with an apprehension order while she sat by his bed in the NICU. A caseworker's note says a reporter was 'concerned due to the mother's history'. She asks why she was never warned. She worried about him all the time and did not meet his foster mother until after she got him back. Eight years later she lives with severe anxiety, nightmares and flashbacks.
