- Stacie Cottle, 27, a dental nurse from East London, gave birth suddenly at her mother's villa in Torre del Mar on 16 June 2015, with no time to call an ambulance; mother and baby were healthy. The next day she went to Hospital Comarcal de la Axarquía in Vélez-Málaga for a check-up. Staff were hostile, said the baby could not be hers because she looked too old to be a newborn, and called police, who seized baby Anzelika. An invasive examination showed Stacie had recently given birth, but doctors insisted on a DNA test, and two weeks later she was still stuck at the hospital waiting.
